Oceans deep moonlight. [Art Commission]

Haha yes late art madness again. In the span of two days I got this done, so it cut back time working on this piece,  Mind you the day before, when I started I had a knarly migraine,  (Jan 26 late evening into Jan 27th morning, resuming/finishing on the 28th of January morning) besides planning in total 6-7 hours?

.A commission requested by my best friend Caylie. She wanted a mermaid drawn, not in its typical imagery, so she gave me a reference on what color palette she wanted and the rest was to my own interpretation. She gave me a pic of a red lion fish..and well, I made my mermaid be the human equivalent to its fish form

Tried a new approach,  by starting with the background..normally don't. And I also added some sea rocks, and tried painting water, and I liked how ot all tied together. My mermaid is also playing with the moonlit water rays of light. And considering caylie wanted dark colors for the ocean to depict an evening setting, I gave the mermaid a glowing effect, and made sure she stood out.

I had tons of fun with this piece. Got to practice scenery, full body and just experience something different.  Anyways Ink and Acrylic on Bristol paper.
