The Wise and Great Owlex

So I finally got around to finishing this piece for Suska today, and  I got to give it to him today. He loved it. Which makes me happy, knowing I worried about him, not liking it.

So flashback moment,  and meaning fir why I painted him an owl is because in 10th grade when I met him, we had a fairly close friendship, and I remember one day in art class we were talking about spirit animals, and for whatever reason he reminded me of an owl. One who was patient, wise and witty. And it sort of stuck.  So yeah, doing this painting was a lot of fun, it was also a matured and realistic version of the owl sculpture I made him for his birthday im the 11th grade. Previous year I had made him a wire wrapped owl charm.

Anywho, this painting was 9 hours in total, acrylics on wood.
